A woven fibre bicornual basket, showing the basal fibre strands, extending upwards from the base and untied at the top.  It has a criss-cross pattern in the weaving.  From Russell River, North Queensland and purchased from W.S. A crescent or bicornual-shaped fibre basket of rigid construction,  executed in a twine stitch.  It has a handle made of cane fibre attached to one side of the basket. There is no decoration in the weaving. From Dunk Island,  Queensland.  It was purchased from Mr. Charles Hedley.   There are three photographs of this basket, taken from different angles.

A woven fibre, crescent-shaped basket made from bugul or Lawyer cane.  It is of rigid construction in a twine stitch and decorated on the outside with black, yellow and brown-red pigments.  These designs are outlined in black, being patterns of irregular rectangles and triangles etc. It has a handle attached to one side of the top.  From the Tully River area,  far North Queensland.  It was donated to the Museum by Mr. Ernest Brooke.  There are six photographs of this basket, taken from different angles.

A loosely woven basket of twilled coconut  strips.  It has two handles made of plaited coconut. It has blue and red painted decoration on it.  It is said to be used to carry a stone dance spinning top.  Collected from the Murray Islands, East Torres Straits by C. Hedley and A.R.
