“Our Crafts are National Living Treasures”

KOCA MASTER weaver

Shannon Duffin

Shannon is the Multi Media person in the KOCA program. KOCA regards documentation of this basket renaissance as having international significance. With the passing of Wilma Walker in June 08, Rhonda Brim became one of the last practicing master weavers carrying the living ancestral connection to the world's oldest basketry from the wet tropics rainforest. Rhonda has created KOCA: to Keep Our Culture Alive

Shannon has documented these Master Weaving workshops given by these National Living Treasures: Abe Muriata & Doris Kinjun from Tully; Rhonda Brim & Winnie Brim from Mona Mona; Evelyn Omeenyo from Lockhart & Ruby Ludwick from Yarrabah

Shannon and her mother Rhonda Duffin are running the managerial office that empowers KOCA as a Cultural Business of international significance

Shannon has been tertiary trained in office skills and multi media.

She is editing this documentation into DVD & film material for KOCA; for the Weavers; & NITV
